Beckham disclosed to Star Sports that he understood the gravity of the occasion following Virat Kohli’s Wednesday milestone of amassing the most ODI hundreds (50), surpassing the previous record held by cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar.
The football legend himself showered praises on Virat Kohli’s achievement and said, “Well, I’d like to say I had something to do with it (the record), but I didn’t. It’s a great pleasure to be here at this stadium and see a moment of history. I spoke to Sachin earlier and I know what he’s achieved at this stadium and in this sport and to see Virat do that was special. It’s my first time in India and it couldn’t have been better”.
