According to recent researches, tea not only titillates the taste buds and keeps the mind fresh, it also has several health benefits. Here is a list of different types of tea and their health benefits.

Green Tea: Known for its fat reduction properties, green tea has a wide range of health benefits. It helps in preventing cancer and keeps the cholesterol levels in check. It also helps in preventing the blocking or arteries and reduces chances of heart attack and stroke. It minimizes the chances of developing neuro-cognitive disorder like Alzheimer and Parkinson’s disease.

Black Tea: An excellent stimulant, black tea helps in fighting lung diseases, and helps the body to detoxify and repair the damages caused by smoking. It also helps in maintaining concentration level and fighting fatigue.

White Tea: This is the unprocessed version of tea. It is considered to be one of the best anti-cancer agents. The flip side, however, is that it is a little expensive than other forms.

Oolong Tea: This type of tea is rich in antioxidants and is very helpful in speeding up the metabolic rate and thus aids in fat reduction. It also helps in bringing down cholesterol levels and preventing the blockage of arteries.

Chamomile: This tea helps one in dealing with the side effects of type two diabetes-like retinal degeneration and damage to the nerves and the kidneys. Since this tea is rich in antioxidants, it helps in weight management and regulation. Apart from this, chamomile is also known to fight cancer.  

Echinacea: This type of tea helps in building immunity, and therefore helps prevent infections and cold. This benefit, however, is only apparent after long-term usage.

Lemon Ginger Tea: Lemon and Ginger are both known for their weight reduction properties. The duo can go a long way in helping you reach your ideal weight. It also strengthens immunity and helps keep bacterial infections at bay.

In conclusion, it can be said that these types of tea have numerous health benefits. However, it has to be kept in mind that the excess intake of these types can lead to acidity, erosion of the lining of the stomach and ulcers. Tea should not be taken empty stomach. The high caffeine levels in some types can even lead to sleep disturbances. Moreover, certain compounds of tea are lethal and therefore it is best to check the ingredients and warnings.
